Throwback Thursday

Happy Thursday! This is the first Thursday of my blog so I'm going to do a throwback. albeit a recent throwback. I got married in September and I had the most wonderful day. I've never been so in love and so loved. It was perfect. We got engaged, planned, paid and wedded in 9 months (and no it wasn't a shot gun jobby). We decided the longer the engagement the more likely it was that the costs would spiral so we worked out a budget and stuck to it. There are so many amazing, quirky things you can have as part of your special day. We decided on a paper theme. Paper is so versitle and easy to work with and I absolutely love making things so over the next few weeks I'll be showing you just what we made. So today's post showcases the paper bouquets. I had three beautiful bridesmaids so it was only fitting that they had flowers to match. Flowers are a very important part of a wedding. I found inspiration from the pomander balls and paper poms. It took a lot of time and love to make them as well as many evenings surrounded by crepe papers, scissors, my glue gun and wire. Our colour theme was navy blue and purple. Personally, I find it really annoying having to hold flowers (but that's just me), you end up making your other half hold them or putting them down and having to run back and grab them. Each flower ball was made with a thick cadbury purple ribbon loop that the bridesmaid could just pop their hand through and have the flowers on their wrists. This was so good for getting in and out of cars and for running around with the photos. I hope you like!
